• Keep soap on a piece of sponge to prevent it from becoming soggy. You can use the sponge to clean the basin and the tap.
• Keep tobacco leaves under the carpet, as they act as effective insecticides.
• Place camphor cubes in room corners to get rid of ants
• Rub a slice of raw potato on the surface of a hand-painted fabric. It will prevent the paint from smudging after a wash.
• Soak kitchen dusters in water, mixed with gram flour for half an hour before washing. They will emerge clean and grease-free after the wash.
• To make your kitchen sink shine, wipe the surface with a paste of flour and methylated spirit. Let it dry, and rub off with a clean, dry cloth.
