Hair
  • Massage hair every week with a good warm oil [mustard/coconut-mixed with coarsely ground methi seeds/olive]. It is preferable to leave it overnight. Otherwise leave for an hour. Give a hot towel treatment to the hair by covering it with hot towel 3-4 times. It controls split ends.

  • If you are washing hair frequently then use very little mild herbal shampoo. Rinse hair well with plain water. After washing off the shampoo completely, add a teaspoon of cider vinegar in a litre of water and give the final rinse with it.  This will free you from dandruff and keeps your hair shiny.

  • Do not use hair drier very often.  Do not comb your hair when wet.

  • Always use lukewarm to wash hair. Never use very hot water.

  • Every three months, get hair trimmed. This way you cut off split ends.

  • Weekly condition your hair with henna. For a good conditioner soak amla, henna powder overnight. Then Add lemon drops, egg, yogurt and some coffee powder. Apply warm oil [mustard/coconut/olive] to the scalp. Give a hot towel treatment to the hair by covering it with hot towel 3-4 times. Now apply the above conditioner to the hair. Leave for an hour and shampoo. This treatment controls split ends, hair loss, dandruff and leaves a shine in the hair. It also delays graying of hair.

  • Apply tea water OR juice of one lemon mixed with glass of warm water as last rinse to hair to make hair vibrant.

  • For a home made shampoo you may use a mixture of amla, shikakai and reetha [in 2:2:1 portion]. Boil them in 2 cups of water. Strain and use to wash hair.

  • Hair loss may occur due to dandruff. For this get rid of dandruff. To control dandruff, apply sour curd or lemon juice mixed with egg white on to scalp. Leave for 25 minutes and wash off. Regular warm oil treatments also help control dandruff. Wash towels, combs, brushes and pillow covers regularly in hot water.
