Ukadiche Modak

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams Grated coconut
  • 100 grams Jaggery
  • 100 grams Rice flour
  • 200 ml Water
  • 2 teaspoons Ghee
Method :

Boil water with pure ghee (1 tsp). Add rice flour. Cook till done (ie. till it leaves the sides of the pan) stirring continuously. Cool slightly and knead well when slightly warm. Mix grated coconut and jaggery with ghee. Cook till the jaggery melts. This mixture can be flavoured with cardamom and nutmeg.

Divide the dough into small portions and roll out like puries. Place some jaggery mixture in the centre and shape like a potli.

Steam for 15-20 minutes or deep fry in hot oil.

Serve hot.
